I Take Driver Safety Personally

For over 11 years I delivered technology solutions to numerous industries and sectors including oil and gas, insurance and of course, fleets.  My passion for driver safety began from my personal desire to keep my family safe.  Since most commercial vehicles are larger than our personal ones, my family is at a significant disadvantage if we’re ever involved in an accident. By helping fleet drivers to become safer, I’m slowly making the roads safer for my family and everyone else’s. 

Safety is a matter of both human cost and simple economics.  The number of people killed on US roadways (43,000 in 2006) is nearly equal to the US soldier death toll throughout the entire Vietnam War each and every year.  Decreasing the number of fatalities and overall crashes is a realistic, worthy and imperative goal.

Joining GreenRoad has transformed my personal goal for increased safety into a professional reality.  One of the most significant features I noted about GreenRoad Safety Center is its focus on driver empowerment.  Instead of focusing on visual monitoring of commercial drivers, this is a system that included them in the process, gave immediate feedback, as well as the opportunity to act on it immediately.  What a unique approach! 

GreenRoad emphasizes driver training as a skill, without the “big brother” mentality.  The potential seemed endless and I became even more intrigued.  The final piece that pushed me through the door was meeting Pete Allen and Dan Steere.  It was very easy to have confidence in GreenRoad knowing that the future of this company was being managed by individuals with such great intellect, passion and expertise.

Today, I am a proud member of the GreenRoad family, inspired by this opportunity to make a difference in my global community.
