Honouring Right-of-Way: Work Zones

There are times when lane closures and restrictions add to congestion, but are   needed in order to provide maintenance and/or repairs to existing roads. Wouldn’t it be great to wake up one morning and find a fully functional and productive oil well, comfortably located in your backyard?  Until recently, unless your back yard was thousands of miles of sand dunes, the chances of this happening were quit slim.  However, do not lose faith on this dream – it may just come true. read more»

Paul Farrell

CEO, SafetyFirst

"Behavior vs. Diet Fads: Have you ever considered that fleets who are trying to go "green" by simply buying/leasing a token number of hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles are a little like "fad dieters" -- "if I could just eliminate all carbs, I'll lose weight!"? read more»

Bill Dale

Sales Manager, Southeast US

For over 11 years I delivered technology solutions to numerous industries and sectors including oil and gas, insurance, and of course fleets.  My passion for driver safety began from my personal desire to keep my family safe. Since most commercial vehicles are larger than our personal ones, my family is at a significant disadvantage if we’re ever involved in an accident. By helping fleet drivers to become safer, I’m slowly making the roads safer for my family and everyone else’s.  read more»

Novice Driver Statistics

27% of 17-19 year-old males are involved in a road collision as a driver in their first year of driving.

one in eight driving licence holders is aged under 25, yet one in three drivers who die in a collision is under 25, and almost one in two drivers killed at night is under 25

young drivers in fatal collisions, especially those under 20 years, were nearly 12 times more likely than those aged 35-65 years to have been at fault

- 2007 House of Commons Transport Committee, Seventh Report

Did You Know?

It has been estimated that up to a third of all road accidents involve somebody who is at work at the time. This may account for over 20 fatalities and 250 serious injuries every week. Some employers believe, incorrectly, that provided they comply with certain road traffic law requirements, eg company vehicles have a valid MOT certificate, and that drivers hold a valid licence, this is enough to ensure the safety of their employees, and others, when they are on the road.
